- Zun-zun: The bee hummingbird, zunzuncito or Helena hummingbird (Mellisuga helenae) is a species of hummingbird which is the world’s smallest bird. It is endemic to Cuba and the Isla de la Juventud.
- Catey: The Cuban parakeet is a species of parrot in the family Psittacidae that is endemic to the island of Cuba. It was extirpated from the Isla de la Juventud south of Cuba soon after 1900.
